I remember Pearl Harbor. As a boy I remember my Step-grandfather, Carlton Spears, telling me about how he was on patrol flying around Hawaii in his PBY Catalina and witnessed the attack on Pearl Harbor. He said the returning Zero’s waggled their wings towards his plane as they were returning to the aircraft carriers that they were launched from. He reasoned that they would have come after their plane but they were out of ammunition and low on fuel as they returning from the attack. He said he lost some friends that day. I remember.
